General questions and answers

Fear could be a serious problem for some people and it is a psychological and religious issue.

If you do not fear the procedure, it means that you have a positive attitude; you are motivated and trust the surgeon to perform his job to his best. If that is the case, then the procedure itself and the postoperative treatment is painless and goes without any problems. I have witnessed that countless times, as I do my procedures either under local anaesthesia or under local anaesthesia with sedation, therefore a patient is fully relaxed. I would also like to mention that today most of the similar procedures worldwide are performed in that manner and not under general anaesthesia.

If patient’s attitude is negative, he does not trust the surgeon and is afraid of the smallest needle dot from the very beginning, and then the whole procedure can became a complete nightmare for both patient and surgeon. The surgeon suffers in that case as well, because he is not able to perform to his utmost, as previously planned.

After so many years of surgical practice, I can guarantee that local anaesthesia really works flawlessly and there are no real reasons for fear or negative attitude. Therefor it is very important that the surgeon explain the whole procedure to the patient and clearly state what he can expect or not. Besides, it is also important to establish a friendly relationship with the patient, which is a key to success.

It really is a difficult question, as most of the surgeons strongly believe they are the best or among the best in their region. That kind of injudicious opinion of own abilities can lead to many various problems for the patient and consequently for the surgeon himself and his reputation. It is wise to accept the principle that there will always be someone better than we are and that modesty is the best policy. Knowledge is extremely important, but if a person has no talent for that particular vocation, than it can have catastrophic consequences.

In my profession, when the procedures are payable and the survival of the clinic takes place all the time, the advertising is crucial. Good and well-orchestrated promotion can make an average surgeon become extremely popular and respectable person. Some of them can hit below the belt and consciously harm their colleagues. The web sites and social platforms are usually very efficient tools for that aim. Such advertising is not really a great science and more often than not, it fires back on those who spread lies and negative comments

Truth and quality are eventually the winners!

Therefore, it is very important for everyone deciding on a particular procedure with a particular surgeon, to get all information personally, to check doctor’s education, years of experience and get to know the surgeon in person.

At the end, one has to trust one’s own intuition and common sense and put aside the prejudice. It is a winning combination.

We consider our prices competitive, if not lower that they could be. They are definitely not fixed and depend on the scope of the procedure, material used (dermal filler, Botox etc.) and the quantity of it, so we can always adapt to relevant patient.

Therefore, the first appointment and consultation are very important as the final price is then defined and set.

Every now and then, we post special offers or prize games on our site and with a bit of luck – you can become a winner.

Popularity of surgical and non-surgical procedures depends on price accessibility or attractiveness for an individual, but it also reflect the background culture.

In urban society that offers well-paid jobs, health and looks are of great importance. In a capitalist society one cannot afford sick-leaves or the look that shows negligence, so a person will try to do everything to slow down the aging process and correct smaller or bigger flaws.

There is also your average patient, who is not aware of the options or how he can be helped, although there is a huge amount of information on the net. The sheer amount of the information, e.g. on Botox, can be sometimes confusing. It is unbelievable how many wrong information are there among the population and there is no real reason for that.

We usually advise local anaesthesia, whenever possible. If surgeon denies that option it does not mean, that you cannot get it at another beauty surgery provider. Today, most of the aesthetic procedures in the world are done under local anaesthetics. Why? The answers are simple and credible. No need for hospitalisation, a patient comes and goes, the time loss is minimal, side effect of a local anaesthesia in prescribed dosage is minimal as well and the price compared to the price of a general anaesthesia is much lower.

General anaesthesia requires pre- and post-preparation of a patient, and usually some time spent in hospital. The patient gets quite large amount of anaesthetic gases intravenous and i.m. medications. All those drugs have their own various side effects. Sometimes a patient complains about some memory loss etc. Regardless of what was said so far, there are certain procedures that absolutely require general anaesthesia, e.g. bigger procedures, combined procedures, etc.,  and when the patient explicitly asks for it.

You are entitled to ask whatever you feel like asking – what certain thing means, is the procedure done under local or general anaesthesia, when you can leave, when the effect becomes visible, if you need to take a sick leave. You can share your fears and doubts, in a word – be curious.

Several days after the procedure, your surgeon is always a phone call or an e-mail away. Depending on the type of the procedure, you will return for a check-up to evaluate the healing process. An additional appointment is usually a month after the procedure and the last one between six and twelve months after the procedure. During the last one, we will evaluate if the procedure had brought the result you expected. If necessary, some minor correction will be made. All additional procedures and check-ups, which are needed to get the best results, are included in the procedure price.

Are minimal facial corrections possible?2019-08-26T17:58:48+01:00

It is very important for us to follow the patient’s wishes, if they are not against surgical, medical or moral principles of the surgeon.

It is particularly the case in non-surgical beauty procedures, e.g. wrinkle correction with Botox, lip enhancement with dermal fillers etc.

If a patient wants a minimal correction of lips, we do that. The same goes for eyebrows lifting with Botox, etc.

Most of our patients want the changes, made by surgical or non-surgical procedure to be as natural as possible and as minimally noticeable to anyone. That seems to be a constant demand.

I have problems with deep vertical lines between the eyebrows, which are due to my frowning. There are some horizontal lines as well. What is the best way to get rid of them?2019-08-26T17:57:49+01:00

It is a typical indication for Botox injections (botulinum toxin A). By injecting Botox into the precisely defined sites on the forehead, the innervation of n. corrugator and n. procerus, which are the main cause for vertical forehead lines, is cut off. The muscles are now relaxed,   and – the vertical lines are gone! The cause for horizontal forehead lines is in m. frontalis. This muscle is also temporarily paralysed by injecting Botox into defined site. Botox effects last between 3-5 months, positive results can last longer. The procedure takes maximum 30 minutes and the client can resume his everyday activities immediately. More about Botox at: FACE – Botox.

Several smaller lumps of skin have appeared on my neck. How can I get rid of them?2019-08-26T17:56:17+01:00

We have noticed a significant growth of patients with problems you have described. These changes are benign and are taken care quickly, easily and effectively by electrocoagulation under local anaesthesia.

The cost is decent and depends on the number of lumps. See PRICELIST.
