WHAT DOES SCLEROSATION MEANS?

Sclerosation means injecting special emulsion into the affected vein or capillary which then works on the vessel and makes them shrink after the appropriate wrapping period.

Sclerosant liquid is injected with small  needles into the vessel without anaesthesia.

WHO IS IT FOR?

Sclerosation is most frequently use for varicose veins and capillaries in legsLaser treatment of varicose veins and capillaries cannot be compared to the results achieved by sclerosation and therefore we do not recommend it.

If the vessel malformation is too serious (varicose veins ) and the problem cannot be solved by sclerosation, we would recommend a surgical procedure (see stripping).

SCLEROSATION POST -TREATMENT

After the procedure the patient can go home. Lesser swelling is to be expected. To make the best of the procedure it is necessary to wear elastic, compressive socks during the day for about 2 months. Walking and other sports activities have the positive effect to the final result.

SCLEROSATION NOTE

Whether the patient is eligible for the procedure or if there are any risks could be assessed only after a check-up. Lesser complications which are of no consequence on the result, are rare. Serious complications are unusual.
