SHORT FRENULUM
Frenulum (elastic band) connects the inner foreskin leaf with glans penis from bellow. Frenulum breve is first prepared, then tied in a knot and cut off. The procedure is done under local anaesthesia and is completely painless.
If the problem does not exist, it allows the foreskin to retract during the intercourse without any problems and we are not even aware of its existence. In a small percentage of the population the frenulum is too short and could be thorn during the intercourse causing a small artery to open and resulting in excessive bleeding.
Quite often the problem can be seen also in phimosis (tight foreskin) and the procedure could solve both problems in the same time.
FRENULUM BREVE POST – TREATMENT
The patient can go home on his own. No pain or other complications are expected.
FRENULUM BREVE NOTE
Whether the patient is eligible for the procedure or if there are any risks could be assessed only after a check-up. Lesser complications which are of no consequence on the result, are rare. Serious complications are unusual.
