Labioplasty stands for surgical correction of the labia.
The procedure is done under local anaesthesia and sedation and it is painless. Labia are reshaped and the excessive part is cut off. The operated area is then sewed with dissolvable stiches.
Normally labia minora does not protrude over labia majora.
There are cases of the shape and size of labia which could be quite disturbing to the patients, e.g. oversized or asymmetric oversized labia, etc. It could cause discomfort in personal hygiene but also psychological issues in sexual contacts.
LABIOPLASTY POST-TREATMENT
The patient can go home immediately after the procedure. Except for a minor sensitivity which could last for about three to five days following the procedure, other complications are not to be expected. We recommend washing regularly with mild disinfectants while going on with daily activities as normal. The patient can resume her sex life in 10 to 15 days after the procedure.
LABIOPLASY NOTE
Whether the patient is eligible for the procedure or if there are any risks could be assessed only after a check-up. Lesser complications which are of no consequence on the result, are rare. Serious complications are unusual.
